Engineering
Every time we enter a building, drive a car, turn on our computers, or do any of a myriad of everyday activities, we are benefitting from the work of a key group of people. To note their contribution to our way of life, this is National Engineers Week (February 17th). During this time, engineering societies and corporations will reach out to school children and stage events across the country to call attention to the achievements of the profession. From iPod’s to space vehicles — engineers apply science, math and principles of matter and energy to provide useful things to us. There are nearly 1.4 million engineers in the U.S., the largest number of them are in the electrical and electronic fields.
