"Star Wars"

Some new words -- "May the force be with you" -- entered the language on
May 25, 1977, as the movie "Star Wars" was released.

George Lucas' space epic became a worldwide hit, with Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia battling the deliciously evil Darth Vader.

"Star Wars" won six Academy Awards and a special Oscar for its sound effects.

Now film making is even more complex. There are about 145,000 people involved in producing films, nearly 5,000 in distributing them, and 135,000 in showing them in local theaters around the country.
